Is the United
States ready for a
woman president?
There’s one on TV: Geena Davis as President Mackenzie Allen in
ABC’s Commander in Chief. And in the scope of global politics, a
woman head of state is not uncommon, both past and present.
Women were recently elected to lead Germany and Chile, and
numerous others lead countries such as Ireland and Finland. But
what about in real life, in the United States? Given our political land-
scape, could a woman succeed as U.S. president? What do you think?

Women are persistent
and have proven them-
selves in the political
world. It’s time to give a
woman a chance to run
this great country!

If she ran against the
right opponent, a
woman could be
elected as president.
Anything is possible.

Unfortunately, we still
live in a country of
stereotypes, so a
woman would probably
not win an election.
Someday, our day will come.

Plenty of women are
qualified, but there is
too much prejudice at
the present time.
Perhaps in about 20
years, we’ll be ready to elect a
woman for the job.

A woman would bring a
refreshing point of view to
the office. But there is too
much racial and gender
bias for a woman to cap-
ture the popular vote in this country.
