and I’m really tired of that. That caused a lot
of human dysfunction and misery, and I’m
glad to see any sign of opposition.
Anyway, my mom liked the photo.
Appreciated!

Kosher connection
I was amazed that your column [“From the
publisher’s desk,” April Connection] gave
wonderful mention to Easter, which starts
April 16, but did not mention one word
about Passover, which starts the night of
April 12. I don’t think this was intentional,
but Costco does have a great assortment of
kosher foods, which I have bought. Costco
also had food available for the holiday of
Purim, which occurred in March.
Truthfully, I cannot help but feel slighted.

Ginnie Roeglin responds: You and the others
who brought this to my attention are absolutely
right. I apologize for the oversight in not mentioning these Jewish holidays and I’ll be more
inclusive in the future. However, I am glad to
hear that Costco is meeting your kosher needs.
No interest in interest-only loans
My husband and I have a real estate and
mortgage company in Northern California.
In the past five years we have watched home
prices in our small community go from an
average of $105,000 to $255,000. I think it is
ridiculous, but that is the way of the market.
I agree with Suze Orman’s views on no-interest loans [“Financial Connection,”
March Connection] 100 percent. These loans
are only meant for those who cannot afford a
traditional loan. Usually these are people
with no savings, bad credit or those trying to
buy above their means. I think over the next
two years we are going to see many foreclosures on people who have gotten in over their
heads with these types of loans. We believe
these loans are just going to create major
problems and lawsuits.

A flowering business
I just wanted to thank you for being part of
our business team. We run Amity Rose &
Nursery Garden (www.AmityHeritageRoses
.com), a small mail-order rose nursery business isolated near the redwood forests of
California, and we just wouldn’t be nearly as
informed as we are without your magazine.
Thanks to The Costco Connection’s articles,
you’ve helped us optimize our Web site and
make better decisions regarding investments.
With every issue my husband, Tracy, learns
something new that he feels was worth the
price of our membership.
