There were a dozen stems in the bunch for

can’t believe how long they have lasted and
how much they have enhanced various

we can always count on Costco to offer ex-cellent-quality products but this was exceptional. Thanks for doing it right ... again.
Fair Trade coffee break

I appreciate the article in the April 2006 issue
regarding Fair Trade coffee. The social commitment to Fair Trade is admirable. However, truly responsible coffee production is
Fair Trade organic or Fair Trade shade
grown. Organic, which is essentially the same
as shade grown, is much more environmentally responsible than other coffee production techniques. Fewer herbicides/ pesticides
is more healthy for workers, consumers and
wildlife (particularly birds).
The goals of long-term sustainability and
community commitment will be better met as
well. I would like to see Costco carry organic/
shade-grown coffee in our local outlet.

Kudos for including an article highlighting
fair trade in the latest Costco Connection
magazine [April 2006]. I was going through my
parents’ mail and read the magazine. It was a
pleasant surprise to come across something I
strongly believe in. Thank you.

The [April 2006] article, “Clearing up the
picture about HDTV,” was the best description on the subject that I’ve ever read. I have
friends with HDTVs that have been improperly hooked up. They think because they get
a better picture than their old TV provided,
they are getting HD pictures. I’m ashamed to
tell them differently. I will now just show
them this article. Well done, Marc Saltzman!!!

Last January 27 I purchased a fresh bunch of
orchids, pictured above, at our only Costco
store in the Coachella Valley (though we
know a second one is planned for La Quinta
soon). Each stem was set in its own vial of
water and was about 18 inches long at least.
