After 11 years of being film only, the Costco International Photo
Contest turned the digital corner this year and, man, did we
find a crowd of photographers waiting there!
In this first year of accepting digital entries, we received 30,490
submissions, half of them digital, easily outpacing the previous record
of 27,301 set in 2003.
And the quality? Our blue-ribbon panel of judges felt the
images were better than ever. You can see for yourself, here and in
our Online Edition (go to costco.com, click on “Costco Connection
Magazine”), which also includes Honorable Mention winners, more
winners from participating countries, and a retrospective of the contest’s first 10 years (found in the January 2006 issue in the archive.)
