NO
from members:
Rising costs in health care, coupled with increasing numbers
of Americans with no health insurance, have many people agreeing
that we need to guarantee basic health insurance to all of our citizens.
Many people also agree that employer-based health insurance is a drag
on the economy, tying workers to jobs they would otherwise leave and
harming the country’s trade competitiveness by adding to the cost of
doing business.
Some have suggested that the best way to guarantee such “universal”
health insurance coverage is for the federal government to manage the
plan. Others argue that the private sector could do the best job of
improving efficiency in the system and keeping costs manageable.

It wouldn’t be cost
effective. Taxes
would have to go up.
To get the coverage
most of us have we’d
have to carry a supplement.
