You wrote a great article about going
green [“Green revisited,” September 2008]
that included a portion on the Living Building
that opened in Lake Worth, Florida, in August.
One of the greatest points left out is the information about using live tropicals indoors.
NASA did the study long ago and all of the
experts agree that if you are not touting using

One thing McCain won’t debate
Just watched the Rachael Ray show with
Senator McCain as the guest, and he endorsed
what many of us already know: The meat
products that Costco sells are by far the best
available to the everyday shopper. His endorsement was for the baby back ribs, but I can
attest that all of the products sold in the meat
departments are always of the highest quality! Congratulations on the endorsement
from possibly our next president on national
television.

husband and I decided to make Costco our
first stop after we left the Kona airport. We
loaded up on steaks, veggies, fruits, water and
other goodies. It even had great prices on souvenir macadamia nuts.
Because we were staying at a condo time-share unit, we had a full kitchen in which to
cook meals. We calculated that we spent only
a quarter of what we would have if we had
eaten out at restaurants. Too bad Costco isn’t
located in each of the Caribbean islands where
we usually vacation!
