What you need for an HDTV home theater
In order to get the HDTV experience, you need three things:
1. An HDTV
2. HDTV content from a digital signal source or a digital player
3. Audio equipment to complete the system
Let’s explore each of these different pieces in turn.
Step 1: The HDTV
Most people immediately think of a flat-panel television, but you should
know more details about the choices. To be called an HDTV, a television
must meet certain standards relating to screen format, picture quality and
sound quality.
The wide-screen look
First, all HDTVs must have a wide-screen format. This means that their
width-to-height ratio—called the aspect ratio—is typically 16: 9. This is wider than
a traditional television’s 4: 3 aspect ratio and looks more like a movie screen.
In the digital era, products will be
distinguished by brand more than by their
function or quality. Since 1999, Samsung
Electronics has been practicing global brand
communication strategy. Based on the
research done by Interbrand Inc., Samsung
is the fastest-growing brand, going from
$6.4 billion in 2001 to $12.55 billion in 2004
in brand equity. Under the brand concept
of “Wow, Simple, Inclusive,” Samsung is
launching a worldwide brand campaign.
Samsung is putting and will continue putting
its customers’ needs first to go for w a rd
as a market-driven and reliable company.
