WHEN IT COMES to quality, my dad had a slogan: You get what you pay for. Usually this saying is fairly accurate, but I recently tested the Kirkland Signature™ Body Soap. It’s less expensive than the bestselling soap at my local grocery store, which is what I usually use. After I used Kirkland Signature Body Soap, my skin felt noticeably smoother than usual.

Costco Buyer Carolyn Sakai says the difference is that the formula for Kirkland Signature Body Soap includes 100 percent vegetable oil. “In terms of quality and value, this is a prime example of why Costco develops Kirkland Signature brand products,” Carolyn says. “It’s a high-end product at a commercial-grade price. It is made with coconut and palm oils, and glycerin, a powerful and effective ingredient often found in skin treatments and high-end luxury soaps. It is a

unique blend of all-natural oils with 25 percent moisturizing cream.” Additionally, the soap is triple-milled, resulting in a dense, long-lasting bar.

Many leading soap bars are made from synthetic detergent and include tallow (beef fat). This can make your skin feel dry and flaky afterward. “Our soap has a clean, fresh scent and conditions skin while effectively cleansing without overdrying,” Carolyn adds.

The only difference you can visibly discern between Kirkland Signature Body Soap and the leading brands is the new packaging.

“The soap is packaged in three five-bar sets, making it convenient to place them in separate bathrooms or other areas you might need them,” Carolyn notes. Plus the updated package contains an extra bar of soap, for a total of 15, at the same price as before: $8.99.
