Not afraid to Broetje the subject
It is always good to see publications highlighting businesses making an effort to return
their success to their communities. However,
your article by Stephanie E. Ponder (“Labor of
love—and respect,” August 2009) was truly
set apart from other publications.
Congratulations on not hiding from the
fact that the Broetje’s Christian faith is what
drives them in the achievements of their business and foundation activities. We live in an
age of much “political correctness.”
Your article and its author did a fabulous
job of allowing your readers to see the true
motivations behind the Broetje’s fine work
without pushing any agenda.

Your article by Wally Amos (“Watermelon
is the answer,” Fresh Views, July 2009) has a

The recipe listed the incorrect amount
of flour needed. The correct amount of

My daughter and son-in-law are schoolteachers and they plan on using it as a motivational tool in the class room. My other
daughter works in a financial office and is
planning to share it with her co-workers.
If everyone would take his words to heart,
we would all live in a better world.
