Chocolate Cherry Brownies

1 standard-size ( 18. 3-21 ounces)
package brownie mix
1 cup pitted and diced Prima Frutta*
fresh sweet cherries
3/4 cup coarsely chopped
walnuts, divided
CHOCOLATE SAUCE
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 pint heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Prepare brownies according to package directions, stirring in cherries and 1/2 cup
walnuts. Bake in an 8-by-8-inch baking dish.
To prepare the chocolate sauce, stir together cocoa, sugar and milk in a small
saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla.
Continue stirring until the sauce thickens and coats the back of the spoon. Let cool.
Whip cream with a beater. When it thickens, add confectioners’ sugar and vanilla;
continue beating until fluffy.
When the brownies are cool, cut into 9 squares. Drizzle 1 teaspoon chocolate sauce on
each brownie. Add 2 tablespoons whipped cream, then drizzle with more chocolate
sauce. Sprinkle walnuts on top. Makes 9 servings.
