BORROWERS WHO obtained their current
Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mortgage before May 31, 2009, will get a break
on the cost of FHA Streamline Refinancing.
Starting on June 11, the upfront fee for refinancing will drop from 1 percent to 0.01 percent—a big reduction. Annual insurance on
such refinances will remain at 0.55 percent.
A streamline refinance is somewhat of
an automatic refinance for borrowers who
currently have FHA mortgages. The main
criterion is that borrowers must be current
on their mortgage payments. Those who are
eligible realize a tangible benefit from refinancing, such as a lower interest rate.

GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS set to go
into effect in August 2012 will enable 401(k)
customers to see the investment and administrative expense ratios for the funds that are
offered in 401(k) plans.
