exactly friends in high school, the two have
to pose as brothers in a new school where a
mix-up places them in reverse roles. Though
the film does have some over-the-top

The Artist. This black-and-white French production, shot in Hollywood, with two French
stars (Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo) and a
slew of American actors (including John
Goodman and James Cromwell), was a surprise breakout hit last year. It was nominated
for 10 Academy Awards and won five, including Best Picture, Best Director (Michel
Hazanavicius), and Best Actor (Dujardin). The

Singin’ in the Rain 60th Anniversary Collector’s
Edition. Rated the number-one movie musical
of all time by the American Film Institute (not
to mention film critics and fans), the classic
tale of Hollywood’s transition from silent films
to talkies gets a special 60th-anniversary treatment. The three-disc set includes, for the first
time, a Blu-ray treatment of the film, regular
DVD, and lots of special features. The set is
limited and numbered for collectability and
also features a commemorative umbrella,
hardcover production book and more. As this
film also harks back to the transition of films
from silent to sound, you could say this is akin
to The Artist, but with sound and color. G
