Just yell “fire”
The story [“Just yell fire,” August 2012]
really touched my heart. With so many
abductions, etc., it was very emotional and
extremely educational. Kudos to this young
lady [Dallas Jessup] for this important information. I work in an elementary school and
hope all have access to this program.
Education begins at home
I appreciated the insight of Sir Ken
Robinson [“Teach your children well,” August
2012]. Robinson emphasized the need for a
personalized approach to create creative
thinkers and passionate leaders.
This is one of the primary reasons we
chose to home-school. We are able to cater to
each child’s strengths, weaknesses and learning styles.
Charged up on savings
I gulped twice—$2,740 plus tax for a new
hybrid battery for our 2001 Toyota Prius. I
went home from the dealer to think about it.
That night, I came across a Costco Connection
article about [a program] offering members a
15 percent discount on parts and service at
select dealerships [Costco Services Update,
July 2012]. I went to the Costco website,
located a dealer and saved almost $430 on
that battery. Thanks, Costco!

products advertised in
ALL PRODUCTS advertised are carried
at Costco warehouses unless otherwise
noted; however, products may not be
available in all warehouse locations.
; Products are scheduled to be available
during The Connection’s month of
publication and are noted as in warehouse “early in month” (1st to 10th),
“mid-month” (11th to 21st) or “late in
month” (22nd to 31st).
; All ads indicate whether a product
is available in the warehouse, on
Costco.com or both.
; Prices are usually not listed in the advertising because they have not been finalized at the time of printing and may
vary from one part of the country to
another due to shipping costs. We hope
that members know to check Costco
first when comparison-shopping.
; To keep prices low, Costco does not
offer a telephone service allowing
members to call in for prices or product
; Shop early in the month for best
selection on seasonal items.
Costco.com carries few of the products
available at the warehouses, but offers
3,500 additional items, including line
extensions and supplemental products.
