AFTER THE STRESS of the holidays is over
and signs of spring begin to blossom,
notions of travel and recreation drift into
your dreams. A boat or a recreational vehicle (RV) might seem out of reach to many,
but the Essex Boat & RV Loans and
Refinancing service offered through Costco
Services helps Costco members make those
dreams a reality.
“New production of boats and RVs is on
the rise, and interest rates are very competi-
tive,” says James Barron, senior vice president
of Essex Credit Corporation. “This means
that qualified buyers have an opportunity
to get what they want with reasonable pay-
Essex Credit Corporation is a wholly
owned subsidiary of Bank of the West, a
member of BNP Paribas Group, one of the
largest financial institutions in the world.
“We have the financial security and the abil-
ity to offer Costco members some of the
most competitive programs in the market-
place,” says Barron.
In addition to exclusive Costco member-only rates, the Boat & RV Loans and Refinancing service offers many features, such
as a reduced loan-processing fee and up to a
$100 Costco Cash card with each funded
loan. Essex also has a refinance loan program
for current boat and RV owners.
Just as homeowners continue to take
advantage of current mortgage rates to
reduce their monthly payments, so too can
boat and RV owners. “Over the last five
years, Essex has helped thousands of Costco
members reduce their monthly payments
[on boats and RVs], shorten the remaining
term of their loan or both,” says Barron.

UNLESS YOU’RE LUCKY enough to live in
a place with year-round sunshine, chances
are the cold weather has your inner seafarer
hankering for boating season. As you begin
to dream of shiny vessels fit for your favorite
waters, check out boat offerings through the
Costco Auto Program.
Just as it does with vehicles, the Costco
Auto Program offers low, prearranged pricing
on an array of boats from Sea Ray, Boston
Whaler and Harris FloatBote. Additional
member-only incentives are available through
participating dealers, along with national
incentives and rebates, depending on when the
purchase is made. All members are eligible for

a $500 Costco Cash card for completing
a redemption form within 30 days of purchase
and a satisfaction survey within 60 days of purchase. “Members can save thousands on their
boat, depending on which type they choose,”
says Costco services manager Dan Martinez.
Members can find participating boat
dealers on the Costco Auto Program website. Once you’ve located a dealership, tell
them you’re a Costco member and they can
help you select the right boat for your needs.
After you’ve selected a boat at a partici-
pating dealership, the salesperson will pre-
pare a member-only price quote, eliminating
the high-pressure sales pitch. Dan says that
buying a boat is a big deal, and members
often find themselves with more consider-
ations than a typical car purchase requires
(decisions include land or water storage, boat
trailers, vehicle hitches, etc.). There are abso-
lutely no purchase obligations through the
Costco Auto Program.
The Costco Auto Program facilitated
the sale of nearly 2,000 boats in 2013, and
more than 7,000 since the program’s inception in 2009.
Whether you plan to fish from sunup to
sundown, tow daring wakeboarders or just
float out to the middle of the lake for some
R and R, a Costco boat dealer can help you
find the perfect match at an affordable price.
