Start the new year right
FOR BUSINESS OWNERS, as well as “
civilians,” Costco has services to help you save
money. Here are some services to consider
as you start the new year.
Taking credit cards for payment?
Beginning October 2015, any payment card
fraud that could have been avoided through
the use of a chip/smart/EMV-card terminal
will become the responsibility of your business, not the credit card issuer. Plan ahead
with special processing rates and pricing on
EMV payment terminals from Elavon.
Visit Costco.com and search “payment
processing” or call 1-866-451-4008.
Shopping for auto
and home insurance
Ameriprise has been providing Costco members with auto, home and umbrella insurance. More than 350,000 members are
insured. Visit Costco.com and search “my
insurance” or call 1-855-531-9251.
Business and personal checks
at member prices
Harland-Clarke, a principal printer for the
banking industry, has been a trusted Costco
partner, printing quality checks and forms.
Visit Costco.com and search “my checks” or
Don’t forget to
use your Reward
on your next
trip to Costco.
Some restrictions apply. See “Services” at Costco.com for applicable terms and conditions. All services are provided by third parties, may not be available in all areas and are subject to change without notice.

AUTO & HOME INSURANCE
ACCORDING TO READY.GOV, a website
devoted to information about disaster preparedness from the Ad Council, the Federal
Emergency Management Agency and the
Department of Homeland Security, all 50 states
and five U.S. territories are at some risk for
earthquakes. Earthquakes can happen at any
time of the year. Do you know what to do
when one strikes near you?
• Wherever you are, stay there until the shak-
ing stops—unless you are directly outside a
building. That’s the most dangerous place
to be. In that case, move out of the way of
exterior walls that could collapse and cause
debris to fall.
• Cover your head to protect it from
• Avoid streetlights and electrical wires.
In your vehicle
• Stop as quickly and as safely as you can,
but avoid parking near a building or on an
overpass, and beneath anything threaten-
ing, such as big trees or electrical lines.
• Once the shaking has subsided, drive with
extreme caution. Avoid roads, ramps and
bridges that may have been damaged.
• Stay where you are. Injuries are most likely
to happen when you are moving from one
place to another within a building or trying
to leave the building.
• Drop to the ground, take cover underneath
a strong piece of furniture and hold on until
the shaking subsides. Avoid windows, out-side-facing doors and walls, and anything
that could fall on you.
• If you are in bed during an earthquake, stay
there and cover your head with a pillow.
Be sure your home is protected in case there
is an earthquake. With homeowners insurance from Ameriprise Auto & Home
Insurance, you can add earthquake coverage.
