SMALL, PORTABLE cameras allow you to capture video and still shots just about anywhere.

Sony has unveiled its smallest point-of-view camera to date: the Sony Action Cam Mini.

Weighing just 2 ounces,
it is feather-light for
mounting on a ski or
bike helmet. The Mini supports full HD video
shooting, captures super-sharp images
through a premium Zeiss Tessar lens, per-
forms well in all lighting conditions and fea-
tures Sony’s SteadyShot image stabilization
to smooth out the shakiness that can come
with shooting on the go. The waterproof case
that comes with the camera keeps it dry in
depths of up to 16 feet.

One really useful option is the live-view remote kit, which features a small viewing screen you can wear like a watch to see your images in real time and control the camera directly from your wrist.

MOS T PEOPLE wouldn’t think of a security camera as a summer recreation item. But in truth, vacation time is actually an important time to think about keeping your business and your home safe.

Going out of town can leave the door open, so to speak, for burglars.

Indoor and outdoor security cameras can monitor your premises in your absence and serve as a deterrent for criminals.

Costco offers security cameras for indoor home use and for businesses in the warehouses and on Costco.com. The Samsung SmartCam (Item #950797) mounts I AM EXCITED to talk about two terrific sets of luggage Costco is now offering exclusively for Costco members.

The Samsonite Move-
lite two-piece soft-sided
set consists of a small
carry-on spinner that
weighs less than 7 pounds
and a larger upright spin-
ner that weighs less than 9 pounds, both with
multidirectional spherical spinner wheels,
which allow 360-degree upright rolling. Both
feature a 100 percent nylon skin with
Samsonite’s patented SamGuard™ water- and
stain-resistant coating to repel water and dirt.
The main openings use oversize self-mend-
ing coil zippers. This means that if part of the
zipper opens on its own, all you need to do to
fix/heal it is pull the slider over that portion:
no more frustration with stuck or broken zip-
pers. Outside pockets offer easy access to
items, such as travel documentations or a
magazine. A comparable set of luggage, with
lesser specs, would cost $379.98, but Costco
sells this set for just $149.99. It’s available in

The Ricardo Brentwood two-piece hard-sided set has shells made of polycar-bonate, which means they’re built for strength and endurance, but lightweight. The set comprises a 7.6-pound carry-on spinner and a 10.8-pound upright spinner. Both are equipped with an ergonomic push-button locking handle with a soft grip to reduce hand fatigue. Interior features include multiple zippered pockets and adjustable tie-down straps to keep your packed items secure and organized. Similar-quality luggage would carry a sale price of $300 at major department stores, but this set sells for $119.99. This set is available in gray and red. (Item #950663)

let, PC or Mac. An option allows you to
record the video for review.
More-sophisticated systems are offered
by Lorex. These systems have up to 12
cameras and a DVR for recording video. As
with the SmartCam, you can monitor
the video feed remotely. Also, the Lorex
systems have built-in motion detectors
and can alert you via email if there’s activity
in the area.
You’ll find a Lorex security system in the
warehouses in mid-May; other models are
currently available on Costco.com.
