MY VACATION STYLE has changed. Don’t
get me wrong: I still love Mexico’s beaches and
festive atmosphere, but now, nothing says rest
and relaxation more than food, drinks and sun
by a blue pool in the serene setting of an all-inclusive resort.
Just in time for summer, Costco Travel’s
Mexico program introduces three new resorts
to the lineup: Live Aqua Cancun, Hard Rock
Hotel Riviera Maya and Secrets Puerto Los
Cabos Golf & Spa Resort.
“Our focus has always been to add quality
hotels with a strong member value,” says
Angie Ward, Costco’s Mexico travel buyer.
“There’s never been a better time to visit the
high-end resorts of Mexico. These hotels have
exceptional amenities that will make you wish
you were there.”
Live in Cancún
Guests at Live Aqua Cancun, an all-inclusive resort exclusively for adults, will
have all five senses delighted from the
moment they arrive.
“Every day we seek to indulge and satisfy
the little desires of each guest who visits us
from all over the world … [creating] memo-
rable experiences through the little details dur-
ing their stay with us,” says Alfredo Santamaría,
general director of Live Aqua Cancun, which is
located in the Mexican Caribbean.
The resort features seven pools, each with
a different temperature, that all run together
and overlook the ocean; a world fusion spa;
and nine restaurants, one of which is nestled
in a private garden and appropriately named
“Live Aqua Cancun consistently seeks to
offer the latest trends and highest quality in
every guest’s culinary experience, one of the
essential elements for which they remember
their stay at our resort,” says Santamaría.
The family affair of Riviera Maya
Vacation like a rock star (family) at the
Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, an all-inclusive resort for families, couples and singles,
with an adults-only side called Heaven. The
expansive music-themed resort is decorated
with music memorabilia, and performances
and concerts are held throughout the year.
“It’s really unique and different from any
other place you go to just because of the vibe
that Hard Rock brings,” says Mariely Yis,
senior sales manager for the all-inclusive col-
lection of Hard Rock Hotels. “Going through
the lobby looking at the memorabilia—you
can’t see that anywhere [else].”
All-inclusive features include unlimited
meals and beverages, plus terrific activities
for children, such as different themed rooms
where guests can meet their favorite cos-
One such character is Barney, the well-
loved dinosaur. “It’s really fun to watch their
reaction. Some are really elated; they can’t
believe Barney is in front of them,” Yis says.
“They really love the characters.”
The resort also offers fun activities
designed especially for teens. With the young
ones taken care of, adults can indulge in the
lavish treatments offered at Rock Spa, the larg-
est spa in the Caribbean, which offers 75 treat-
ment rooms and a hydrotherapy experience.
“There’s so much for people of all different ages to do at the hotel,” Angie says.
