WHILE ELECTRONIC payments have
eclipsed the number of checks being written
today, many still prefer this written method of
payment. Many landlords favor checks for
rent payments, and some businesses don’t
accept credit cards. Businesses in the U.S. still
pay half of their bills by check, according to a
September survey by the Association for
Financial Professionals. This method of payment is still necessary, but ordering checks
through a financial institution can be costly.
That’s where Costco check printing (costco
checks.com/Art1) comes in. Members can save
up to 50 percent on the cost of checks compared with bank pricing, and on other office
essentials and business supplies, such as binders, checkbook covers, ink stamps, labels, tax
forms and more, from Costco service provider
“Harland Clark started 140-plus years
ago,” says John Ashe, senior market segment
Harland Clarke provides secure
checks and more at a great value
manager for Harland Clarke, which has been
in partnership with Costco since 2004.
“Throughout the company’s history, it has
been a leader in check innovation, from mag-
netic ink character recognition in the 1960s
to leading-edge security features today.”
All Costco checks come with state-of-the-
art fraud protection features. But you can also
order enhanced-security checks (for either
business or personal use), which come with
25 different security measures to help fight
against check fraud and identity theft.
“Some of the most important features
include 3D holograms, which are very diffi-
cult to reproduce, and thermochromic ink
that disappears when heat is applied and reap-
pears once cooled,” says Ashe. “Also, toner
adhesion on the laser checks provides an
added level of security, making it very diffi-
cult to remove toner from the paper.”
And Harland Clarke allows members to
express themselves with a variety of check
designs, including characters from Disney
movies such as Finding Dory, Moana, The
Secret Life of Pets and Star Wars; the Marvel
Universe; M&Ms; SpongeBob SquarePants;
and works by artists such as Anne Geddes
and Mary Engelbreit.

How to spot
BIG HOLIDAYS and special occasions tend

some other form.
You have rights as a business owner,

payments is one of them. Otherwise, you
could be facing a very expensive problem.—HM
