DEBATE GOES ON
In response to the January debate, “Has office
attire become too casual?”
NO When we become more concerned with
someone’s wardrobe than with their level of productivity, we misplace the value of that employee.
Let’s make sure we are evaluating the right things
—Amy Herbst Shattuck, from
YES Office attire has definitely become too
casual. It used to be suits and ties. Then slacks
and button-up shirts. Now it’s jeans and tees.
Next it will be shorts and ;ip-;ops. Where is the
professionalism? The way you dress shows how
you respect the people you work with.
—Rose Ellis, from
Kudos for publishing the “Quit smoking”
article in the January ;;;; Connection. Your
suggestions to assist those who wish to cease this
;lthy and deadly habit are reasonable and e;ec-tive. As one who has conducted Stop Smoking
clinics on both coasts for many years, I have witnessed the struggles people have as they battle
nicotine addiction. As you know, tobacco addiction is insidious and, once it takes hold of a person, is very di;cult to break. Medical experts say
nicotine is more addictive than heroin.
Thank you for stating in clear terms that it
is possible to quit smoking, and that a better life
awaits for those who are successful.
—Lawrence Downing, San Luis Obispo, California
I just finished reading your article “Quit
smoking” [January ;;;;]. I had smoked for over
;; years. On the day I met my new love I made
my mind up to quit smoking. I knew if others
smoked around me, I would not be able to quit.
Hearing about hypnosis, I went to see a therapist.

product is available in the warehouse, on Costco.com or both.
Products are scheduled to be
available during The Connection’s
month of publication and are
noted as in warehouse “early in
month” (1st to 10th), “
mid-month” (11th to 21st) or “late in
month” (22nd to 31st). Shop early
in the month for the best selection of seasonal items. Costco.
com carries many of the products available at the warehouses,
and offers thousands of additional items, including line extensions and supplemental
products. Prices are usually not
listed because they have not
been finalized at the time of

part of the country to another
due to shipping costs. We hope
members know to check Costco
first when comparison shopping.
To keep prices low, Costco does
not offer a telephone service
allowing members to call in for
