8 The Costco Connection JULY 2017
DEBATE GOES ON
In response to the June debate, “Is baseball still the
NO Football has surpassed baseball as the most
popular sport in America. Plus, who needs ;;;
games to determine who gets to the playo;s?
—Gil Gredinger, from facebook.com/Costco
YES People may try to argue for the NFL or the
NBA, but there is nothing like going to the stadium on a hot summer night and eating a hot dog
with a cold beer.
—Edgar Rodriguez, from facebook.com/Costco
I read with interest what this amazing person
is doing for others with her Friends of Bethany
nonpro;t organization [“Beautifully ;awed,” June
;;;;]. Bethany Hamilton is an inspiration to all,
and I believe this woman would have been fabulous with or without the incident that took her
arm. She has turned her misfortune into others’
good fortune. That’s what I call the perfect ride!
—Glen Ayers, Jacksonville, Florida
Wear a helmet!
I was dismayed to see an article entitled “Love
your brain” [June ;;;;] illustrated with two adults
riding bikes without helmets. Riding a bike is good
exercise; riding it without a helmet is an unneces-
sary risk of a head injury. Please think about safety
when illustrating articles.
—Marie L. Lobo, Albuquerque, New Mexico
One thing I saw missing in the article on leg
cramps [“Don’t cramp your style,” June ;;;;] is
that in some cases, admittedly rare, it may be a
blood clot. I thought I had a leg cramp and it
turned out I had a large clot that started in my
ankle and went up my leg. I encourage all readers
to visit the Stop the Clot website ( stoptheclot.org).

All ads indicate whether a
product is available in the warehouse, on Costco.com or both.
Products are scheduled to be
available during The Connection’s
month of publication and are
noted as in warehouse “early in
month” (1st to 10th), “
mid-month” (11th to 21st) or “late in
month” (22nd to 31st). Shop early
in the month for the best selection of seasonal items. Costco.
com carries many of the products available at the warehouses,
and offers thousands of additional items, including line extensions and supplemental
products. Prices are usually not
listed because they have not
been finalized at the time of
printing and may vary from one
part of the country to another
due to shipping costs. We hope
members know to check Costco
first when comparison shopping.
To keep prices low, Costco does
not offer a telephone service
allowing members to call in for
prices or product availability.
