PUFF PASTRY MEATBALLS
1 package (1;⁄; pounds) Kirkland Signature™ organic ground beef
1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
¼ cup milk
2 tablespoons ;nely chopped shallots
1-2 garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
2 teaspoons of dried oregano
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 packages ( 4 sheets) frozen pu; pastry, thawed
4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
6 slices Swiss cheese, quartered
Prepare meatballs: Combine all meatball ingredients, except oil.
Form into 24 equal-size balls. Heat oil in a large skillet over
medium heat. Sauté meatballs until cooked throughout, about
7 minutes, turning during cooking. Remove from pan to cool.
Prepare pastry: Place 1 sheet of pu; pastry on a baking sheet.
Spread 2 tablespoons mustard on pastry, then evenly space 12
meatballs on top. Top each meatball with a piece of cheese.
Place a second sheet of pu; pastry on top of the meatballs. Press
down around each meatball. Cut a square around each. Crimp all
edges. Repeat process with remaining pu; pastry to make 24 total
pastries. Bake according to pastry instructions. Makes 4-6 servings.
