SAVINGS MADE EASY
THE COSTCO Member Prescription
Program (CMPP) is a prescription savings program for Costco members and
their families. It allows members and
their dependents who have no prescrip-tion-drug insurance, or whose insurance
does not cover all of their prescription
medication, to obtain lower prices on
Both current and new prescriptions filled via the CMPP receive a discount, with some medications offered
at up to 80 percent off. Costco pharmacists can tell you the specific savings on
your prescriptions, and even recommend a medication similar to the one
you have been prescribed that may
have a higher discount.
How it works
Joining the CMPP is easy. Just
complete a simple enrollment form—
available at any participating Costco
Pharmacy—for each participant and
return it to your Costco pharmacist.
The Costco Pharmacy team will enter
your enrollment in the system and you
will receive the lowest possible Costco
price for that medication. Please note,
anyone receiving benefits from a publicly funded health care program, such
as Medicare or Medicaid, is not eligible.
The CMPP was created specifically to
help Costco members save even more
money on prescriptions. While it’s not an
insurance plan, CMPP provides lower
costs on all prescription drugs for qualified members, their dependents (under
the age of 18) and even the family pet.
Costco accomplishes this by pooling
members’ purchasing power and passing
manufacturer-sponsored discounts and
rebates directly to members to provide
the best savings.
Since pets are not eligible under their
owners’ medical plans, essentially they are
uninsured and therefore qualify for the
CMPP. Be sure to sign up your pet for the
Costco Pharmacy CMPP so you will automatically receive your pet’s prescription at
the lowest possible Costco price. Costco
pharmacies carry more than 150 prescription drugs commonly used for dogs and
cats, including leading name brands and
generics. Commonly sold prescription categories include flea and tick medications,
anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics and
heartworm prevention, such as Heartgard.
If your veterinarian suggests a treatment for your dog or cat that includes a prescription, ask him or her to call in or fax the
prescription directly to Costco or to write a

prescription for you to take to the Costco

dog or cat that regularly uses a prescription drug, bring the prescription bottle

able to tell you about availability and
