story
IN THE HEART of Argentina’s acclaimed wine-
producing region lies Mendoza, known as “the land
of sun and wine,” the source of Kirkland Signature
Malbec. High altitude, a warm, dry climate and intense
sunlight result in an extended ripening cycle to
balance sugar and acidity. Our malbec is aged in
oak barrels for 12 months, adding complexity, balance
and structure to this full-bodied wine, which boasts
notes of lush plum and cherries, integrated oak
and subtle cocoa, with a velvety smooth texture and
a long, rounded finish. It’s an incredible value at $6.99
(available in most locations). Item #1239144.
Mellow
malbec
As we enter fall, darker, heartier wines are
often the preferred choice. Malbec, from
Argentina, has a distinctive taste and is a fun
alternative to cabernet sauvignon. It pairs well
with the foods we turn to in the fall, such as lean
red meats, dark-meat poultry and lamb. To learn
more about Kirkland Signature™ Malbec, see
“Back story” below, as well as our story on South
American wines on page 92.
