DUNGENESS AND KING CRAB WITH
SWEET CHILI BUTTER SAUCE

4 pounds cooked king or Dungeness crab
(cleaned; see note)
½ cup salted butter, divided
1 garlic clove, crushed
¼ cup yellow onion, minced
½ cup sweet chili sauce
2 teaspoons soy sauce
Preheat oven to 400 F. Place crab in a large roasting pan.
Warm in oven for 6-8 minutes.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon
butter. Add crushed garlic and onion and sauté until
golden brown. Add remaining butter and whisk
to melt. Reduce heat to low. Slowly whisk in sweet
chili sauce and soy sauce. Sauce will thicken the
longer it is left on heat.
Transfer crab to a platter. Transfer butter sauce to
serving bowl. Serve warm with French bread or rolls.
Makes 4 servings.
Note: Crab featured at Costco is cooked. If you’re using
raw seafood, be sure to properly prepare it.
