Asian Pear Tart

CRUST
1 1/3 cups flour
1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/3 cup finely chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup butter, softened
FILLING
3 Kingsburg Orchards Asian pears (about 2 pounds)
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/3 cup toasted chopped pecans
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. To prepare the crust, mix the first 5 ingredients in a medium bowl;
cut in the softened butter until crumbly.
3. Press dough firmly and evenly against the bottom and sides of an
ungreased 10-inch fluted tart pan.
4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Set aside.
5. To prepare the filling, cut Asian pears in half and core, then cut each
half into 6 wedges.
6. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add pears and sauté
for 20-25 minutes, or until nearly tender. Add brown sugar and cinnamon;
sauté for another 5 minutes or so, until pears are tender.
7. Place sautéed pears in a pinwheel pattern on the crust, and pour
remaining sauce from the pan over them. Sprinkle with toasted pecans.
8. Serve with ice cream. Makes 8 servings.

Watermelon Ice Cream Pie
DULCINEA
24 graham cracker squares
1/4 cup corn oil margarine, melted
1 cup chopped Dulcinea PureHeart Seedless Watermelon
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
1. Place 4 graham cracker squares in a blender and process on low speed
for 10-15 seconds, or until fine crumbs form. Empty into a medium bowl.
Repeat with remaining crackers.
2. Add melted margarine to the cracker crumbs and mix until a ball
forms. Press mixture into a 9-inch pie pan. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
3. Place watermelon in a blender, cover and blend on low speed for
30 seconds, or until pureed.
4. Swirl watermelon through softened ice cream.
5. Firmly pack ice cream into the crust. Cover and freeze for several hours,
or until firm. Garnish with watermelon balls if desired. Makes 6-8 servings.
