a holiday that has changed little over several hundred
years. Then (1621) as now, Thanksgiving has been
a time to gather together to give thanks for family,
friends and the land’s plentiful harvest.
It is a time of golden moons, crackling leaves, old
and new faces, shared stories, childhood memories
and hands around the table.
This year when the family sits down at the
Thanksgiving table, be reminded that in the grand
scheme of life, it matters little whether the turkey
leans to one side, the gravy has a few lumps or the
cornbread is burned. What is important is that
loved ones are gathered together, and for that we
should all give thanks.
