The 2006 Kirkland Signature Rutherford Meritage shows all of the elements of a classic Bordeaux blend with sweet black fruit character that lingers on the palette giving way to complex flavors of cassis and toffee. Pronounced like heritage, Meritage is a word developed by American wine pioneers combining “merit” and “heritage.” It is used to describe the highest form of a winemakers art - blending. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot represents the best our sustainably farmed estate vineyards have to offer.
