Ti Point Marlborough estate vineyard consists of 60 hectares
of plantings on the sunny southern side of Wairau Valley.
This is a classic Marlborough vineyard site of stones and
overlying silts and with its north facing aspect, captures the
sun's heat during the crucial ripening period. 2008 was a
Classic vintage with cool evenings which followed long sunny days providing significant photosynthesis
for the ripening of grapes. The fruit was selected from low yielding vineyards on predominantly gravel
soils.
Winemaking
100% Cool Fermented in Neutral temperature controlled Stainless Steel tanks . This Sauvignon Blanc
show the intensity and concentration that can only be achieved from the best placed vineyard sites and
old vines with lower yields, followed by careful handling from harvest to bottle. It is excellent to
consume now and will hold and improve for 2 to 3 years as some of the youthful acid and dense fruit
become even more harmonious.
Wine
Light pale green tinged lemon shades. Aromas of white flowers, smoky gooseberry and red grapefruit
notes. Medium high alcohol and searing high acidity and a citrus fruit character that sings a seamless note
from the attack on the palate all the way through the rich mid palate to a crescendo on the finish. The
lightness on the palate is in direct opposition to the intense depth and concentration of fruit . Classic
characters of ripe Marlborough Fruit. Starts off with fresh cut hay aroma and tropical pineapple and
moves onto slight mineral finish. Soft and round mid palate that evolves into a lovely limey acid finish,
creating length and persistence
