This small-batch single malt was selected from the reserves of scotch
distilled at Scotland’s renowned Macallan distillery.
The Kirkland Signature 19-year-old Single Malt Scotch is crafted in the
Speyside region of the Highlands in Scotland. The area Speyside is
universally acknowledged as the heartland of malt distillation. This area,
between the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen, sweeps from granite
mountains down to fertile countryside where barley is among the crops.
It is the watershed of a system of rivers, the largest of which is Spey.
Although it is not precisely defined, Speyside is commonly agreed to
extend from the River Findhorn in the west to the Deveron in the east.
The Speyside single malts are noted in general for their elegance and complexity, and often a refined smokiness.
Kirkland Signature Scotch was distilled in pot stills and matured at the
Macallan distillery in Scotland. By law Scotch whisky must be matured
for a minimum of 3 years in oak casks, though the Kirkland Signature
Single Malt Scotch spent a minimum of 19 years in oak casks. The
Scotch whisky continues to develop and change as it spends time in the
wood. Each year spent in the wood reduces the alcohol content of
the whisky.
