Dungeness crab is a treasure from the
ocean. Paci;c Seafood harvests only
male crabs at the peak of their quality
and physical condition so Costco members can enjoy legs and claws that are
succulent and full of meat.
The best thing about Dungeness crab is
the ;avor. A close second is the joyful
experience you get from cracking and
eating it. For the timid or uninitiated,
digging into a crab couldn’t be easier.
First, twist o; each leg where it joins
the body. Next, break o; the big claws.
Legs and claws can be broken with either
a nutcracker or a small hammer. If you
have trouble getting to the meat, a pick
or cocktail fork works beautifully.
While it’s hard to imagine having any
leftovers, extra crab can be used in crab
cakes, omelets, salads and sandwiches.
Dungeness crab has the power to turn an
average evening into an unforgettable
event. Pick up a few crabs, some bread
and wine on your next visit to Costco,
invite a couple of friends for dinner and
let the “cracking” event begin.
