Prepare the syrup: In a small saucepan, combine zest, juice, maple syrup and
honey. Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute. Whisk in butter. Reduce the heat
to very low and keep warm.
Prepare the French toast: Whisk together eggs, milk, zest, honey, cinnamon and
nutmeg. Pour into a baking dish. Lay the bread slices in the egg mixture and let

¾ cup milk

8 slices French bread
Butter or pan spray
4 Cuties, peeled and
sliced, for serving
CITRUSY SYRUP
Grated zest and juice of
2 Cuties clementines
¾ cup real maple syrup
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon butter
sit for about 30 seconds to absorb the batter, then ;ip over. The goal is to
use up all the egg batter.
Melt some butter in a large nonstick skillet (or use pan spray) over medium to
medium-high heat. Add as many slices of soaked bread as will comfortably
;t. Cook about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden and cooked through.
Repeat with the remaining bread slices. (You can keep your French toast warm
in a 300°F oven while you cook the rest.)
Serve warm, topped with sliced Cuties and drizzled with Citrusy Syrup.
