Foreword
As we head into the second decade of our The Costco Way cookbook series, it’s a great time to reaffirm Costco’s buying philosophy. We
strive to offer the highest quality at the lowest possible price, providing
our members with unparalleled value. We work with suppliers who are just
as passionate about the items they provide to Costco members as we are.
That collaboration between buyers and suppliers is a significant part of the
value equation.
Regardless of trends or fashionable ingredients, our job at Costco is to
continually improve the products our members purchase and better define
the attributes of quality for each item. From premium trim specifications
to higher grades and superior freshness to larger sizes, Costco buyers know
what it takes to deliver a first-rate product.
And we’ve seen time and time again that you, our members, are able to
identify quality and value. One of our greatest joys—and proof of your
savvy shopping skills—is overhearing a member relate his or her positive
experiences with a product to another member. Most members seem more
than happy to help their fellow shoppers by talking to them about their
favorite items, based on taste, quality and price. This doesn’t occur just in
the warehouse either. At nearly any gathering or social event, someone
will be singing the praises of a recent culinary success made possible with
the help of Costco.
The recipes in this cookbook are meant to give you the opportunity to
create your own kitchen masterpieces. All of the recipes have been kitchen
tested, giving you greater confidence and peace of mind when deciding
what to cook. Whether you’re entertaining guests or cooking for family,
we are sure you will find that these recipes taste as good as they look.
And whether it’s your favorite ingredient prepared in a new way or a dish
featuring something you’ve never considered trying before, we hope
Simply Delicious The Costco Way will become the go-to source for your new
favorite, show-stopping recipes.
