Simple digital print
ordering from home
HERE’S A NEW SERVICE from Costco that
brings even more ease to getting digital photos made into high-quality prints. Using the
Photo Center at costco.com, it’s possible to
upload digital photos from a home computer
(or anywhere with Internet access), place an
order and then pick up the prints at any
Costco 1-Hour Photo lab in the country.
The service provides prints in one hour
for orders of up to 100 4-by-6-inch glossies.
Larger orders or photo enlargements take
additional time, but can be picked up no later
than the next day at opening.
Getting prints of your photos is just the
start. Once you upload the images, you can
perform several editing functions before
ordering prints. Photos can be cropped, redeye can be reduced and a fill-flash feature can
brighten back-lit subjects. A variety of colorful borders can be added to your photos, and
you can create individual captions.
If you’re interested in enlargements or
photo CDs, those items can also be ordered
online for pickup at 1-Hour Photo.
You can also have your photo
reproduced on a wide selection of
gift items, such as coffee mugs,
greeting cards and posters. These
items are mail order only, and are not available for pickup at the warehouse.
Do you have a folder of digital photos in
your computer that you intend to sort
through and then e-mail to relatives and
friends? The Photo Center has a solution to
make that task more manageable.
Setting up a Photo Center account entitles you to store your digital pictures.
Different albums can easily be arranged in
your account, sorted any way you choose.
Label an album “Pets” or another album
“Disneyland” for pictures from your last
vacation. It takes just a few minutes to set up
the albums and upload your photos.
You can then order prints from any of
those albums. And you can share the experience by designating the e-mail address of any-

one whom you would like to have access to
one or all of your albums. That person will
receive an e-mail with a link allowing him or
her to view the album or albums you have
made available.
The big plus: Once your relatives or
friends visit your album, if they are Costco
members they will be able to order prints to
pick up at any Costco location they designate.
They can also enjoy the mail-order delivery of
all the specialty items, just as you can.
The Photo Center at costco.com is the
solution for all your digital-photo needs.
