Ethan Becker is the grandson of Irma S. Rombauer, the
original author of The Joy of Cooking. He attended Le
Cordon Bleu in Paris, but learned how to cook from his
mom, Marion Rombauer Becker. He lives at Half Moon
Ridge in the mountains of East Tennessee with his
wife, Susan. He was passed the responsibility of the
stewardship of the Joy of Cooking in 1976 from his
