P ho to finish
2007 Costco
International
Photo Contest
winners
COSTCO ASKED members to “Give us your
best shot” for the 2007
Costco International
Photo Contest, and they did,
capturing images of family,
friends, pets and scenery everywhere from their backyards to
places thousands of miles from
home. A record-breaking 43,000
people sent in photos from
every country where Costco
has warehouses.
We’d like to thank all of the
photographers and all those
who found themselves the subject of a photograph. We’d also
like to thank the judges and the
sponsors—especially Fuji—who
made the contest possible.
Shot to a “tea”
Shu-Yu Liu, of Kaohsiung
County, Taiwan, was visiting Tibet
in May 2007, with her husband,
when they spotted this young lama
hurrying across the courtyard.
“He was running into the
temple to prepare the hot buttered
tea for the elder lama, who was
doing his morning lesson,” says
Liu, an amateur photographer who
works for Chang Gung Memorial
Hospital as a radiation technician.
“It was a very meaningful and
special moment,” says Liu. “It’s a
scene that can’t be seen in Taiwan.”
For winning the International
Grand Prize, Mrs. Liu will receive
a $2,500 Costco Cash card.
