The Costco Connection digital editions deliver way more than the monthly magazine. Back issues are a great
resource for those articles you remember reading and want to revisit or share. And if you’re fond of cooking, the
annual The Costco Way cookbook—only available online after the Thanksgiving weekend distribution each
year—provides thousands of recipes, each designed with Costco products in mind.

Business necessities
Although the five points made in the
article “Five necessary expenditures” [Fresh
Views, March 2014] are great recommendations for small-business owners, they are not
the only areas that need attention.
In business, there are three people that you
cannot do without: an honest accountant, a
good small-business lawyer and a competent
IT person. Those three people can make or
break your company.

Safe arbor
In the recent March edition, you had an
article by Laura Langston entitled “Look to
your tree for yard health.” She omitted a very
important reference: The Arbor Day
Foundation (
www.arborday.org). Their whole
goal is to see that more trees are planted.

A Kirkland Signature™
cat food fan
After 12 years with one family, Buddy the
cat was dropped off at the Austin Animal
Shelter, where he was so scared and confused
he refused to eat. He quickly was put into a
foster home, where his foster “mom” tried
over a dozen different brands and types of cat
food over five weeks, hoping he would start
eating on his own—but no go.
In desperation she asked the shelter to
contact his previous owner to ask what they
had been feeding him. They said Kirkland
Signature Maintenance cat food. As soon as
Buddy was offered the Kirkland Signature
food he began to eat.
Talk about brand loyalty!
Buddy is still looking for a forever home,
but now we know that whoever adopts him
will have to be a Costco member.
