ANYONE WHO HAS ever purchased a computer printer knows the expense is not necessarily in the machine itself, but in the cost of replacing ink cartridges.

A couple of tips to save ink are to proof your work electronically before printing and to use “draft” mode, or whatever your particular printer calls it, if you must print to proof. Check your owner’s manual. In draft mode, the quality won’t exactly be top notch, but you’ll use a lot less ink.

Regardless of printing habits, when the day arrives that you have to replace the cartridge, think of Costco. We carry Hewlett-Packard, Canon and Epson inkjet cartridges in our warehouses and on Costco.com, at considerable savings.
