in The Connection
• All ads indicate whether a product
is available in the warehouse, on
Costco.com or both.
• Products are scheduled to be available
during The Connection’s month of
publication and are noted as in warehouse “early in month” (1st to 10th),
“mid-month” (11th to 21st) or “late in
month” (22nd to 31st).
• Shop early in the month for the best
selection of seasonal items.
• Costco.com carries many of the
products available at the warehouses,
and offers thousands of additional
items, including line extensions and
supplemental products.
• Prices are usually not listed because
they have not been ;nalized at the

wheel,” April 2015]. The combination of
reduced hours of sleep and the interruptive
sleep pattern of sleep apnea (due to waking up
gasping for air, snoring, etc.) may cause an
individual to fall asleep at the wheel.
It also may contribute to high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke. There are take-home sleep test kits that can help assess if a
more comprehensive sleep test is needed. For
the safety of yourself, loved ones and others, if
you suspect you have sleep apnea, get tested.

Costco Travel and Costa Rica
Thank you for recognizing Costa Rica as a
prime travel destination [“Costco Rica,” April
2015]. The second language in Guanacaste
province is English so [visitors] will be happy
to find that many Ticos speak English. For
retirees, properties in Costa Rica are very
affordable and the lifestyle is very comfortable.
My family and I have traveled to Costa Rica
many times during the past 20 years and each
visit is more amazing than the last.

A better bread
I always welcome new introductions
from your bakeries [“Bread winner,” April
2015]. I have a minor quibble about your
newly introduced from-scratch bread: Its
round format is awfully hard to slice. Please
make it available in long loaf form.

Bakery buyer Franck Myhre responds: We are
already making a change to some of our large
bread rounds. We will soon be producing these
in a long two-loaf format that will be much
easier to slice.
Doing business right
What a great article from Jim Clemmer
[“Turn your organization upside down,” April
2015]. And to all the managers/bosses out
there: After almost 30 years in the service
industry, I’ve not once been to an employee
meeting where the manager has started the
meeting with “How can I (we) help you do
your job?” “Do you have the support you need
on a daily basis?” “Do you have the supplies/
resources you need on a daily basis?” I’ve

YES. The oil pipeline is a backup to our national

not guaranteed. Many events are happening

Synthetic, simply said
I just read “The skinny on synthetic oil”
[April 2015]. This short, succinct article was
very informative. You got right to the meat of
the subject and provided important information as to how often I may need to change my
engine oil within recommended parameters.
Moreover, you pointed out why synthetic oil
is far superior to conventional oil. What I
really appreciated is that you avoided using
complex vocabulary that the average reader
would have to look up in a thesaurus to
understand what you were trying to convey.

it so hard for most managers to see that they
(the company) could be so much better? You
just need to ( 1) care, ( 2) listen and ( 3) respectfully work together.
