is proud to
announce the
publication
of the earliest known
work from Harper Lee,
the beloved best-selling
author of the Pulitzer
Prize–winning classic
To Kill a Mockingbird.
Originally written in
the mid-1950s, Go Set
a Watchman was the
novel Harper Lee ;rst submitted to her publishers before To Kill
a Mockingbird. Assumed to have been lost, the manuscript was
discovered in late 2014.
Go Set a Watchman features many of the characters from
To Kill a Mockingbird some 20 years later. Returning home
to Maycomb to visit her father, Jean Louise Finch—Scout—
struggles with issues both personal and political, involving
Atticus, society and the small Alabama town that shaped her.
In To Kill a Mockingbird Lee explores with humor and honesty the
irrationality of adult attitudes toward race and class in the Deep South of
the 1930s. A town steeped in prejudice, violence and hypocrisy is pricked
by the stamina and quiet heroism of one man’s struggle for justice.
To Kill a Mockingbird BD/Digital HD stars Gregory Peck in his
Academy Award–winning performance as Southern lawyer Atticus Finch.
;is classic which was nominated for 8 Academy Awards—and won 4—has
been digitally remastered and fully restored for optimum picture and
sound quality and boasts hours of unforgettable bonus features.
