my position, because I’m proud of it. I’ve been
a healthcare ambassador for 10 years, and I
get great satisfaction from educating Costco
members on the Health Insurance Marketplace.
CS: What’s special about the service you and your
co-workers provide through the Health Insurance
Marketplace?
TM: Members get a personal consultant for free.
They can ask questions any time of year. We
can explain their benefits and make insurance
terms relatable to help them so they have a better
understanding of what they’re buying.
CS: With so many variables among insurance
plans, how do you narrow down the options
for members?
TM: I pay close attention to their individual needs
and the needs of their family. Then I take great care
to research the plans that best suit them.
CS: How convenient is Costco’s Health Insurance
Marketplace?
TM: Very! It provides members with one place to
shop and compare what is available from industry
leaders. In addition, they can review what’s available
in state and federal marketplaces.
CS: If members opt to review plans from various
sources, is it necessary for them to speak with
different ambassadors?
TM: No. An ambassador can assist them with any
type of enrollment scenario in a single phone call.
