CS: Should a member request an ambassador
who specializes in a specific plan?
TM: No. Ambassadors are knowledgeable on all
options available to Costco members. Plus, they have
the experience of having helped thousands of other
members.
CS: Other than advising on plans, benefits and
features, what other information do you provide to
Costco members?
TM: We assist on a wide range of topics, including
finding the right doctors and hospitals; researching
experts who work with complex medical conditions,
scheduling appointments with hard-to-reach
specialists, assisting with billing and claims issues,
providing cost estimates for common procedures,
explaining prescription coverage and assisting with
finding elder care.
CS: What’s one main message you’d like Costco
members to know about the work you and your
colleagues do?
TM: We’re a dedicated resource to help Costco
members make informed decisions. Even if members
don’t buy insurance from the Health Insurance
Marketplace, they still can call, email or chat with
us at any time, year-round, for general questions
and guidance.
