WHEN IT COMES to upscaling garages, Costco members are a creative
bunch. Here are three members who took regular garages and turned
each one into a car enthusiast’s dream.—T. Foster Jones

COSTCO MEMBERS CREATE
A CAR MECHANIC’S HEAVEN
FEATURES: Concrete floors, 12-foot-high ceilings and wiring for an array of fluorescent
lights. Equipment includes an air compressor,
a cherry picker, a gas welder and MIG welder,
and a four-gas emission analyzer, which diagnoses engine emission problems and offers
diagnostics that lead to boosted performance.
Tools live in an old Snap-on toolbox. On
walls and shelves are trophies and plaques
he’s earned for amateur racing, and other
memorabilia, such as car ads and posters.
“The garage is functional, but it’s also my

floors, hard-wired a space heater and
installed a 60-inch TV.
Four ceiling speakers attach to the TV
as well as the central home audio system.
