Love in bulk
ONE OF the first big steps in our
relationship was when Brian
added me to his Costco membership. I was nervous. What did this
mean? What if our relationship
didn’t last—was this an additional
layer of complication we would
have to undo?
One day in April, Brian and I
went to Costco and he seemed to be
taking a very long time. I remember
thinking he was acting odd, and said,
“What’s going on?” but he shrugged it off.
When we finally got out to the car he
pulled out a ring. He’d been trying to find
the right moment, the courage, the right
place to ask me to marry him in Costco. It
was “our place,” after all, and he wanted to
solidify our future in such a happy location. And so I readily accepted, right there
in the parking lot of Costco.

WE MET at Costco.
Our first encounter after we met, he brought
me Costco churros.
He sent me on a scavenger hunt to Costco.
We went on a date in the Costco parking lot
to celebrate our one-year dating anniversary.
He proposed with a ring from Costco.
We cut a Costco cake at our wedding.
We used Costco flowers.
And our first Christmas cards sent as a new
family were, of course, from Costco.
We’re about to celebrate our one-year anniversary and could not be happier. Your long
aisles and breadth of variety have left us with a
standing date (samples!), new eyeglasses, a
photo book of our proposal trip to New York, new
shirts as Jeramy started a new career and many
Kirkland Signature™ means quality and
value, and that’s exactly what I got in my Kirkland
Signature-brand husband: He’s a dream.
Thank you, Costco!

You’d better believe many of
the wedding supplies came from Costco,
and over the years many of our furnishings
and clothes and whatever else we can find.
To this day, Costco is still where we go for
date night and
to spend time to-
gether. Our friends
and family think it’s funny
and some are horrified that our pro-
posal was in a parking lot, but I wouldn’t
have it any other way.
