Carving
tips
• Cover tabletops with newspapers to help
clean up the mess.
• Pumpkin carving kits have all the tools you’ll
need. Supervise children with instruments,
and make knives o;-limits.
• Avoid flame-lit candles, which are fire hazards.
Battery-operated tea lights and colored or strobe
LED lights are a safer option.
• If your pumpkin survives the night of tricks, avoid
adding to landfills by tossing it in the compost bin.

(Don’t forget to roast the pumpkin seeds.)
