I can also bake, roast and grill. My meal
options—beyond the guilt-free crunchy
pleasures mentioned above—are as varied as
they are delicious. It has quickly become my
favorite kitchen appliance.
Here are a few features to look for in
choosing an air fryer:
Touch-button presets. Preprogrammed
cooking modes eliminate the guesswork in
setting temperatures and cook times.
Easy-to-read and -use display. Just set
the timer and go about doing other things.
Easy-clean convenience. This is a must
for busy cooks.
Enhanced cooking performance. Some
models include a stainless steel floating rack
that can be used to raise the cooking level or
increase cooking capacity with two tiers.
Detachable basket. This accessory
allows you to easily transport meals from the
air fryer to the serving dish.
Cookbook included. A super way to
try delicious recipes recommended by the
unit’s maker.
So, eat healthy. Eat what you like. Stop
ordering out and start frying in. Air fryers
cook a variety of foods to crisp, flavorful
perfection, saving you time, money and
calories in the process. They are everything
to love about frying, but without the guilt
of heavy fat.
I have become such a fan of air frying
that every day is “fryday” at Cat’s house.
Chocolate Budino
Cooking spray
3 Tbsp all-purpose
flour, plus extra for
coating ramekins
½ lb bittersweet
chocolate, shaved
Spray and flour 12 aluminum ramekins. Set aside.
Place the chocolate in the top of a double boiler or a
large bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water over
low heat. Melt the chocolate slowly, stirring occasionally.
In a medium bowl, gently whisk together the eggs,
egg yolks, sugar and flour. Mix until all the ingredients
are well incorporated. When the chocolate is smooth,
remove the bowl from the hot water and add the margarine. Stir until the margarine is melted and the chocolate
is smooth again. Add the egg mixture, mixing well.
Spoon the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling each
one half full. Air-fry at 310 F for 13 minutes. The edges
will have just begun to pull away from the sides, and the
center should still look moist and shiny. Remove the
ramekins from the air fryer and let cool for 10 minutes.
Flip out onto a plate, garnish with bananas and serve.
Makes 12 cakes.
